If the AI drafts a longer story, panels beyond your balance stay locked until you top up; you're only charged for what's actually rendered. Any pack or plan adds volume (100–1,600 credits a month, or one-time packs from 20 to 1,500 credits) and clean exports without the small Comicory watermark on free PDF/PNG/ZIP/long-image downloads; uploading your own character photos needs a subscription or a pack from the $19.99 Creator Pack up, and the 10 paid art styles need a subscription. Subscriptions (not one-time packs) also render in a priority queue at busy times, with Max on its own top lane. Free credits are a one-time grant — they don't refill monthly.

Yes, on every plan. Comics you generate are yours to use, sell and distribute — in training material, courses, books, merchandise, ads or client work — with no attribution required. Free exports carry a small Comicory mark; paid plans export clean files, and subscribers (Plus and up) can put their own company name and logo in the footer instead via Settings → Export branding. Upload a real person's photo only with their consent, and avoid trademarks or characters you don't own. Full terms are in section 5 of the Terms of Service.

Finished comics can be downloaded as a multi-page PDF, a print-ready KDP PDF, a high-resolution page-layout PNG, one long scrolling PNG, a PowerPoint deck (one slide per panel or per page, with title, chapter and closing slides), a CBZ comic archive, or a ZIP containing the individual panels and completed pages. The dialogue, page layout, and captions are included in every composed-page format.

Drafting a comic script costs 4 credits; each character reference image, each location reference image and each panel image costs 1 credit. PNG, PDF, CBZ and ZIP downloads are free; a PowerPoint deck costs 2 credits per download and a social video costs 2. The one-time signup grant gives you 10 credits — exactly a 4-credit script, 1 character reference, 1 location reference and a 4-panel comic if you set the panel count to 4 (on Auto, longer drafts lock the extra panels until you top up). Uploading your own characters or location photos skips the reference-image step (and its 1 credit), so attached uploads are free at render time. One-time credit packs start at 20 credits without starting a subscription.

Yes — any subscription, or a one-time credit pack from the $19.99 Creator Pack up, lets you upload reference photos for a character (the $4.99 First Comic pack is a render trial and doesn't). The renderer uses your photos directly across every panel, so there's no waiting for the AI to draw a character sheet first. Free accounts see the upload UI but need a qualifying pack or subscription to attach photos; until then the AI draws the character references instead (1 credit each).

Yes, on Max and Ultra. Upload 3–5 pieces of your own artwork and Comicory distils them into a reusable style you can pick like any built-in one. A style build costs 4 credits (refunded if the build fails) and rendering with it costs nothing extra. Max keeps 5 saved styles, Ultra keeps 15. You must own or have the rights to the artwork you upload.

Yes. Continue Story (Create next chapter) adds a new chapter to any finished comic, reusing the same cast, art style and story context, and chapters stack inside one comic so readers follow the whole series in order. Without a subscription a comic can grow to 5 chapters; any subscription removes that cap. Each chapter costs credits like any other render (4 for the script plus 1 per panel; the cast and locations carry over from earlier chapters, so their references cost nothing again). A 16-panel chapter runs 20 credits.

Yearly plans are billed once a year and save you ~17% compared to monthly. Credits are granted monthly throughout the year, just like a monthly plan — so you always have a steady supply and never end up burning through 12 months of credits in one weekend.

Yes. Cancel your subscription at any time from your account. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.

Credits are refunded automatically whenever a render fails, a panel is blocked by the safety filter, or a custom style build doesn't complete — you only ever pay for panels that actually render, and panels already drawn are never charged twice on a retry. Refunds of a pack or subscription payment are reviewed case by case: email support@comicory.com with your order number and we'll reply with a decision, usually within a business day. Cancelling a subscription is always available from your account and keeps your access until the end of the paid period. Full details are on the Refund Policy page.

Yes — on subscriptions, unused credits roll over every month you stay subscribed: each renewal extends the expiry of your remaining subscription credits to match the newest monthly grant. If you cancel, no new grants arrive and your remaining subscription credits expire about a month after the last renewal. One-time pack credits are separate and stay valid for 1 year from purchase.

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Stripe. Payments are processed securely — we never see your card details.

Yes. Switching creates a new subscription that is billed and starts immediately. Your previous subscription is scheduled not to renew and ends after its already-paid period, so the two paid periods can overlap. This is not a prorated in-place change. Any unused subscription credits stay in your account and continue rolling over while you keep an active subscription.
