A manga panel generator is not the same as a generic comic panel generator. Manga's visual language is specific — screentones instead of color, action lines instead of motion blur, vertical-panel rhythm with full-page splashes, and right-to-left reading. The Comicory Comicory AI comic generator
Built for Manga's Specific Visual Language
Manga panels read differently from Western comic panels. The manga panel generator is tuned for the conventions readers expect — and that scripts and AI image models often get wrong without specific direction.
Screentones, Not Color
Black ink + halftone-dot screentones for shading. No color, no gradient — the authentic manga look. The generator defaults to monochrome with screentone shading per panel.
Action Lines & Speed Lines
Movement in manga reads through radial action lines and parallel speed lines, not motion blur. Action panels render with the appropriate lines for the camera angle.
Right-to-Left Order
Manga reads right-to-left. Page layouts default to RTL panel ordering — the way Japanese manga publishers print pages. Switch to LTR for Western-style manga publishing.
Single Panel or Full Page
The manga panel generator works at two scales: render one panel at a time for inserting into a wider project, or render a full page of panels at once for a complete manga chapter.
Single-Panel Mode
Describe one panel — characters, action, camera angle, dialogue — and the generator renders just that panel. Useful for filling gaps in an existing manga, or for hero panels you want to art-direct heavily.
Full-Page Mode
Pick a manga page layout (3-tier, splash, 6-up grid) and let the AI script and render every panel on the page. The layout's aspect ratios pass straight to the image model so each panel renders at the right shape.
Locked Cast
Save your manga cast to your character library on page 1. Every subsequent panel pins the same characters — same hair, same outfit, same screentone palette across the chapter.
Manga Panel Generator vs. Comic Panel Generator
Same panel-level rendering engine, different style and layout assumptions. The comic panel generator targets Western-style ink-and-color comic panels with left-to-right reading. The manga panel generator defaults to monochrome screentones, manga action conventions, and right-to-left page ordering. Pick by what tradition you're working in — switching mid-project is straightforward.
Questions
About this generator.
Yes. Pick a manga page layout — splash, 3-tier, 6-up grid, full-bleed action — and the generator renders every panel on the page at once. The layout determines each panel's aspect ratio, which passes straight to the image model so panels are drawn at their correct shape.
Yes — that's the default. The monochrome manga style uses halftone-dot screentones for shading and pure black ink for outlines. You can also pick color manga styles (shōnen action, soft anime, gekiga) if your project calls for color.
Yes. Pages default to RTL panel ordering (the way Japanese manga is read). Toggle to LTR before rendering if you're publishing for a Western audience or a webtoon-style left-to-right read.
Yes. Single-panel mode renders one panel at a time. Useful for fixing a single page, generating hero panels you want to direct heavily, or filling gaps in a manga you've drawn yourself.
The manga generator is end-to-end — paste a story, get a full chapter rendered. The manga panel generator is panel-level — render one panel or one page at a time with explicit panel-by-panel control. Use the generator for full chapters; use the panel generator for surgical control over specific panels.
Free signup gives starter credits for script preview. Rendering costs 1 credit per panel — a typical 6-panel manga page is 6 credits. The $2.99 First Comic pack covers about one full short chapter.
