PANEL 1
A breathtaking wide aerial view above a jagged mountain range at sunset. A lone United States Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon cuts through towering storm clouds. The American fighter is military gray with one engine, one vertical tail, a single-seat bubble canopy, and recognizable F-16 wings. Far behind it, a Russian MiG-29 Fulcrum descends from the clouds. The MiG has two engines and two vertical tails. Orange sunlight bleeds across the cloud tops. Only these two fighters are present.
CAPTION: Twenty thousand feet above the mountains, two men were about to discover how quickly the sky could become a graveyard.
PANEL 2
Inside the American F-16 cockpit, VIPER, an experienced American fighter pilot wearing an olive-green flight suit, gray helmet, dark visor, and oxygen mask, studies his instruments. Red threat-warning lights begin flashing. Through the canopy behind his right shoulder, a distant fighter silhouette grows larger. His gloved hand tightens around the control stick.
CAPTION: RADIO — Bandit high! Five o'clock! Break right!
VIPER: I've got him.
PANEL 3
The Russian MiG-29 dives toward the F-16 from behind and above. Its twin afterburners burn bright orange. The MiG's cannon flashes, sending a stream of glowing tracer rounds toward the American fighter. The rounds narrowly miss the canopy and cut through the vapor around the right wing.
SFX: BRRRRRRRT!
CAPTION: The first burst missed.
CAPTION: The bastard wasn't planning to miss twice.
PANEL 4
A dramatic close-up inside the F-16. VIPER violently pulls the control stick sideways, throwing his aircraft into a punishing defensive maneuver. His oxygen hose pulls tight against his chest. The horizon rotates outside the canopy as red warning lights reflect across his helmet. His entire body strains against the crushing G-force.
VIPER: SHIT! BREAK! BREAK!
PANEL 5
High above the mountains, the F-16 rolls almost inverted and slices through a thick wall of storm cloud. White vapor streams from its wings. The pursuing MiG-29 follows directly behind, refusing to surrender its position. Cannon tracers streak through the mist, close enough to illuminate the F-16's fuselage.
CAPTION: I rolled.
CAPTION: He rolled.
CAPTION: I dove.
CAPTION: He followed.
PANEL 6
Inside the F-16 cockpit, VIPER looks desperately over his shoulder. The MiG-29 is visible through the rear portion of the bubble canopy. Red and amber warnings illuminate the instrument panel. Sweat runs beneath VIPER's helmet while his gloved hand grips the controls.
CAPTION: RADIO — Viper, he's still on your six!
VIPER: NO SHIT!
PANEL 7
Both aircraft burst out above the storm clouds into brilliant orange sunlight. The F-16 climbs almost vertically, its single afterburner glowing. Behind it, the MiG-29 follows with both engines burning fiercely. White condensation curls from both aircraft as they fight for altitude and position.
CAPTION: Two machines.
CAPTION: Two men.
CAPTION: Neither willing to surrender the sky.
PANEL 8
Inside the MiG-29 cockpit, SPECTER, the Russian fighter pilot, wears a dark-green flight suit, white flight helmet, and oxygen mask. His face is hardened by concentration, and sweat darkens his collar. He watches the F-16 ahead through his canopy. His gloved right hand holds the control stick while his left grips the throttle.
SPECTER: You are not getting away.
PANEL 9
A spectacular side-on aerial view of the two fighters entering a violent rolling scissors maneuver. The American F-16 reduces speed and cuts across the Russian fighter's flight path. The MiG-29 flashes ahead in an overshoot, its twin vertical tails unmistakable. Both jets pass dangerously close, missing each other by only yards.
SFX: WHOOOOOSH!
VIPER: THERE YOU GO!
PANEL 10
The F-16 has successfully reversed the fight and now pursues the MiG-29 from behind. The American aircraft's nose points toward the fleeing Russian fighter. VIPER fires a short burst from the F-16's wing-root cannon. Bright orange tracers streak past the MiG as it banks violently to escape.
SFX: BRRRRRT!
VIPER: RUN, YOU BASTARD!
PANEL 11
Inside the MiG-29 cockpit, SPECTER twists his helmet toward the F-16 behind him. His eyes narrow in fury. He pulls into an aggressive climbing turn, using the brilliant setting sun directly ahead to obscure his aircraft. The cockpit shakes as the MiG strains under the maneuver.
SPECTER: My turn.
PANEL 12
The MiG-29 climbs across the face of the setting sun, its twin tails silhouetted against blinding light. The F-16 follows, momentarily losing visual contact. The MiG rolls over the top of its climb and reverses direction, diving down toward the American aircraft from above.
CAPTION: I had him for three seconds.
CAPTION: Then the sun swallowed him.
PANEL 13
Inside the F-16 cockpit, VIPER frantically scans the sky. The sun reflects across his visor. Suddenly, the Russian MiG-29 appears through the canopy behind him, high and closing. Warning lights begin flashing again a

PANEL 1
A terrifying wide aerial view above the mountains at sunset. The American gray F-16 Fighting Falcon rolls inverted and plunges toward the rocky valley far below. Its single afterburner burns fiercely. Behind it, the Russian MiG-29 Fulcrum follows the dive, its twin engines glowing orange. Both aircraft accelerate downward through a narrow opening in the storm clouds. The jagged mountains rush upward toward them.
CAPTION: The sky had failed me.
CAPTION: Now I was betting everything against the ground.
PANEL 2
Inside the American F-16 cockpit, VIPER wears his familiar olive-green flight suit, gray helmet, dark visor, and oxygen mask. The altimeter unwinds at terrifying speed. Warning lights flood the instruments while a massive rock face grows rapidly through the canopy. VIPER keeps the nose pointed down, despite every instinct demanding that he pull up.
CAPTION: Five thousand feet.
CAPTION: Four thousand.
CAPTION: Three.
PANEL 3
Inside the Russian MiG-29 cockpit, SPECTER wears his dark-green flight suit and white helmet. He stares at the plunging F-16 ahead. Beyond the American fighter, the mountain valley fills his canopy. He realizes both aircraft are diving toward the earth at deadly speed. His hands tighten around the controls.
SPECTER: What the hell are you doing?!
PANEL 4
A dramatic exterior view directly across the mountain valley. The F-16 plunges toward the ground with the MiG-29 close behind it. Both aircraft are almost vertical, leaving long vapor trails stretching upward into the dark clouds. Massive jagged rock formations rise on either side. The two jets appear tiny against the enormous landscape.
CAPTION: No missile could frighten me now.
CAPTION: The whole damn planet was coming to kill us.
PANEL 5
Extreme close-up inside the F-16. VIPER's eyes stare through his visor at rapidly approaching rock and treetops. The cockpit is filled with flashing ground-proximity warnings. His gloved hand tightens on the control stick. His body trembles under the stress of the dive.
CAPTION: WARNING — PULL UP! PULL UP!
VIPER: Come on, bastard.
VIPER: Let's play chicken.
PANEL 6
The F-16 pulls out of the dive at the last possible moment. Its wings bend visibly under the violent maneuver as the aircraft screams over a rocky ridgeline, barely clearing the summit. Dust and loose vegetation whip into the air from the jet wash. The gray fighter climbs sharply away from the mountain, its single afterburner blazing.
SFX: WHOOOOOOOOOM!
CAPTION: One heartbeat.
CAPTION: That's all that separated me from the grave.
PANEL 7
Behind the recovering F-16, the Russian MiG-29 attempts to follow the same deadly maneuver. SPECTER sees the ridgeline rushing toward his aircraft and pulls sharply away. The twin-engine fighter banks sideways across the valley, losing its position behind the American. Its wings leave thick white condensation trails as it struggles to clear the mountain.
CAPTION: He blinked.
CAPTION: The bastard finally blinked.
PANEL 8
A dramatic aerial view of the F-16 rolling over above the mountain ridge. The American fighter swings through a powerful descending arc and positions itself behind the escaping MiG-29. Far below, the Russian jet streaks along the valley floor between rocky cliffs. The F-16 is now the pursuing aircraft.
VIPER: THERE YOU ARE!
CAPTION: The hunter had just become the hunted.
PANEL 9
Inside the F-16 cockpit, VIPER steadies his aircraft behind the MiG. His face is exhausted but fiercely determined. The Russian fighter is visible ahead through his canopy. The gun sight centers on the MiG's twin-engine fuselage while VIPER's gloved finger rests on the trigger.
VIPER: You're mine now.
PANEL 10
The American F-16 opens fire from behind the MiG-29. A sustained cannon burst tears through the air. Tracer rounds slam into the Russian fighter's right wing root and engine nacelle. Bright sparks explode across the damaged metal. Torn aircraft panels peel away into the slipstream, and thick black smoke begins pouring from the MiG's right engine.
SFX: BRRRRRRRRRT!
SFX: KRAAAK!
CAPTION: Metal met metal.
CAPTION: And the sky finally drew blood.
PANEL 11
Inside the MiG-29 cockpit, SPECTER is thrown violently against his harness as damage warnings flash red and amber. His right engine instruments indicate severe damage. Smoke trails past the canopy outside. His eyes show fear, but his expression hardens as he looks toward the F-16 following him.
SPECTER: Not today!
CAPTION: I thought I'd finished him.
CAPTION: I couldn't have been more wrong.
PANEL 12
Despite its damaged right engine, the MiG-29 abruptly reverses its turn across the F-16's flight path. VIPER overshoots the wounded fighter. SPECTER uses the opening to bring the MiG around behind the American aircraft. The Russian fighter trails black smoke but remains airborne and dangerous.
CAPTION: A wounded animal is dangerous.
CAPTION: A wounded fighter pilot is worse.
PANEL 13
