Before Elias can reach Mara, the station lights fail and the last train begins moving again with its doors open. Mara pulls Elias aboard, where they discover a sealed envelope addressed to Mara beneath Elias’s seat and realize someone expected them to reunite.

Elias admits he has received identical anonymous messages for weeks, but never told Mara because each one ordered him to stay away from her.

Elias pulls the emergency brake, but the train ignores it and passes every station. Mara searches the driver’s cabin and discovers it is empty, while Elias finds fresh footprints leading from the front carriage toward them.
