Retired chess champion Elena visits her old rival Viktor in his cluttered bookshop to return a trophy she stole from him forty years ago. They argue over tea about the famous final match, replay the disputed move on a dusty board, accuse each other of cheating, laugh despite themselves, and finally play one last quick game that ends in a deliberate draw. She leaves the trophy on his shelf on her way out.
