PLANCHE 1
Planche01/ 026 cases
1
Across the Storm, planche 1, case 1: Mara stands on a high rooftop with the heart-transplant cooler secured to her chest, measuring the storm-darkened city and feeling the deadline close around her.
The storm was racing toward the city—and so was Mara.
2
Across the Storm, planche 1, case 2: Mara launches across a narrow rooftop gap, one hand catching the next ledge while thunder rolls; the cooler stays locked against her body, and fear sharpens into focus.
Mara Vale
Keep moving. The heart cannot wait.
3
Across the Storm, planche 1, case 3: On a rooftop ledge, Mara checks the cooler's seal with trembling fingers as rain thickens. The hospital beacon glows far ahead, making the remaining distance feel impossible.
Mara Vale
Still sealed. Just a little farther.
4
Across the Storm, planche 1, case 4: The final bridge ahead shudders under the thunderstorm. Mara reaches its broken span just as lightning strikes, forcing her to leap across the collapsing gap.
Lightning struck the final bridge as the gap began to collapse.
5
Across the Storm, planche 1, case 5: Mara lands hard on the far side, slides across the rain-slick surface, then surges toward the hospital doors with the cooler intact and seconds remaining.
Mara Vale:Almost there!
6
Across the Storm, planche 1, case 6: Mara reaches the hospital doors just in time and thrusts the heart-transplant cooler into waiting hands, exhausted as the emergency mission succeeds.
Mara Vale:Made it.

A Stolen Heart

Mara Vale learns that the cooler she delivered contains a tracking device and that someone inside the hospital has diverted the heart to an unauthorized recipient. Mara Vale follows the trail through locked service corridors before the transplant team begins the operation.

PLANCHE 2
Planche02/ 022 cases
1
Across the Storm, planche 2, case 1: Inside the bright lobby, Mara sees a blinking tracking device hidden beneath the cooler's handle. Dr. Elias Venn arrives with a tablet and reveals that the heart has been diverted to an unauthorized recipient; the transplant team is preparing to begin without it.
Dr. Elias Venn:That tracker was planted. The heart was rerouted before it reached our operating room.
Mara Vale:Then show me where it went.
2
Across the Storm, planche 2, case 2: Mara follows the tracker into the locked service corridors. A red location pulse on Dr. Elias Venn's tablet points beyond a sealed steel door while the transplant team's operation clock begins counting down in the distance.
Mara Vale:The signal is behind this door. We move before the operation starts.
Dr. Elias Venn:The transplant team has minutes. Find the heart before they begin.
